Invest In Your Long-Term Health With General Dentistry

  • Reducing Health Risks | Monitoring your smile manages dental infections and decay that can seep into your bloodstream if you are not careful. A clean smile can also reduce chronic bad breath, prevent tough tooth stains, and minimize receding gumlines.
  • Minimizing Further Tooth Damage | Even slight dental damage can influence the rest of your smile, causing irreversible damage later on. General dentistry treatments help to contain problematic areas of your smile before it spreads.
  • Improving Self-Confidence | A healthier smile makes it easier to feel confident and open in public and professional circumstances.

Bahr Dental’s Dental Damage Plan

Bahr Dental maintains a safety plan with all of our regular patients to fight back against plaque and gum infection. We recommend scheduling 2 dental visits a year to give our dentists time to spot significant dental plaque before it’s too late.

Our membership plan makes general dentistry care easy and convenient, all while saving you money on visits and restorative dentistry placements

If you have any questions about our general dentistry options, feel free to give our office a call! We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Sedation Dentistry Makes Your Visits Easier

We utilize sedation dentistry to make each visit to our office a calming one. We have several different types of sedation dentistry. Nitrous oxide is commonly used if you need a bit of help relaxing, and that is what we recommend for a general cleaning and exam if you are a bit nervous.

If you need something a bit more relaxing, we can also prescribe an oral sedation that you take right before your appointment. In some cases, we will recommend IV sedation. To learn more about our sedation dentistry call us or visit our sedation dentistry page.

We offer a treatment custom to each person who visits our dental office! Our care ranges from regular dental exams to TMJ treatment and more. With our broad list of treatments, you can rest assured that you can come to Bahr Dental for any oral health concern you have.

Dental Exams

Dental exams help us spot dental infections with the help of our low-radiation X-ray scanners. During your visit, we also provide personalized oral hygiene tips to ensure your teeth stay healthy between appointments. Our experienced dentists come with years of acclaim to properly diagnose and treat your tooth damage in an efficient manner.

Dental Cleanings

At Bahr Dentistry, regular dental cleanings are essential to maintaining a healthy smile. Our thorough cleanings remove plaque and tartar buildup, helping to prevent gum disease and tooth decay. Dental cleanings are quick, effective, and an important part of your overall dental care. Schedule your cleaning today to keep your smile bright and healthy year-round.

Tooth Extractions and Wisdom Teeth

Sometimes removing a tooth is the healthiest thing for your smile, especially if it is your wisdom teeth. Using advanced techniques, we minimize discomfort and promote faster healing after extraction. Dr. Bahr will assess your specific needs and provide clear guidance on aftercare to ensure a smooth recovery. Whether it’s due to overcrowding, infection, or impacted wisdom teeth, our team ensures a comfortable and efficient procedure.

TMJ Treatment

Constant pain in your jaw or in your teeth can be a sign of temporomandibular disorder (TMD). We offer custom oral appliances that you can wear during the day and at night or just at night, depending on how severe your pain is.

We also offer muscle therapy and medication solutions to help you feel your best once again.

Sleep apnea

We want you to have the best night’s sleep possible, but we understand sleep apnea can make that difficult. Using custom oral appliances, we help keep your airway open during sleep, reducing snoring and interruptions in breathing. These devices are comfortable and non-invasive, making them an excellent alternative to CPAP machines. Dr. Bahr will refer you to a sleep specialist for diagnoses, and can then provide you with an oral appliance.

Treat Your Gums to Expert Dental Care

Your gums are as essential to your smile as your teeth. We offer several care options for your gums, whether it be for cosmetics or oral health.

During a routine exam, we will take a special look at your gums to make sure that they are healthy. If you are struggling with gingivitis we will recommend some changes to your oral health routine and give your smile an extra good cleaning. If you have periodontal disease we have several treatment options to restore your health.

Dental Deep Cleans

If you have the onset of gum disease, we offer dental deep cleanings to remove the plaque and bacteria from around your gums. These can be completed in 1 or 2 visits, using local anesthesia. Your gums will thank you for the care and treatment.

Create a Balanced Smile

Our Ultradent laser works to do more than treat gum disease. It can give you a more balanced smile as well. See more on our cosmetic dentistry page about how we use the Ultradent laser.

Gum Infection Therapy

Some patients may find themselves with more major gum damage that needs immediate attention. Bahr Dental offers gingivectomies with our Ultradent soft tissue laser. This laser can effortlessly remove infected gums so you can have a healthier smile once again.

Our laser treatments are completely painless and offer a shorter recovery time than traditional gingivectomies.

Bahr Dental’s Advanced Technology

Dental technology is essential to giving you the best results, whether that be an easier cleaning or a quicker recovery after dental surgery. We offer some amazing technology for all of your general dentistry needs.

Dentsply Emergency Care

If you need toothache relief, we have a solution for you, with our Dentsply files, which quickly and safely remove tooth decay and infection, with little to no discomfort. Our team of hygienists and doctors are trained to use this tool and many others to minimize damage and make you comfortable the whole time you are in our office.

Vatech Digital X-Ray Machine

We limit radiation while still getting precise 3D scans of your smile, with our Vatech X-rays. When you come in for a regular appointment, we will take an X-ray of your smile. Thanks to our scanning technology you just get to stand near the machine and it will take a 3D X-ray of your smile!

Dexis Scanners and iMedit Scanners

For more precise treatments, we have intraoral scanners that we can use before and even during treatment, allowing us to understand your oral health and then offer you a treatment that truly fixes the issue. These scanners are comfortable and discrete, so you won’t be bothered by them while we treat your smile.

General Dentistry FAQs

What should I do if I have a cracked or chipped tooth?

If you’ve chipped or cracked a tooth, contact Bahr Dentistry immediately. We can evaluate the damage and provide a solution such as bonding or a dental crown to restore both the function and appearance of your tooth.

Is tooth sensitivity normal after a cleaning?

Some patients experience mild tooth sensitivity after a dental cleaning, especially if plaque buildup was significant. This sensitivity typically resolves within a few days. If it persists or worsens, contact our office for further evaluation.

What should I do if my gums bleed when I brush or floss?

Occasional bleeding while brushing or flossing can be a sign of gum inflammation or gingivitis. If it persists, it’s important to schedule an appointment with Dr. Bahr. We’ll evaluate your gum health and recommend treatment to prevent the progression of gum disease.

Don’t stop flossing every night. Sometimes your teeth have to adjust to your new habit of flossing.

How do I know if I need a tooth extraction?

Tooth extraction may be necessary if a tooth is severely decayed, damaged, or causing overcrowding. Dr. Bahr will perform a thorough evaluation and only recommend extraction if it’s the best option for your oral health.

Wisdom teeth often need extraction to prevent pain or the shifting of teeth.
